WinMLS 2000 is sound-card based software for high quality audio, acoustics and vibrational measurements. WinMLS is aimed at professionals, but also for non-commercial users, such as home audio enthusiasts and students. This is possible because of its ease of use,  low-cost personal license and no need for specialized hardware. Note that the personal licenses are allowed for personal and class-room usage only, and not for commercial usage or research.

We have professional users worldwide. For example, Genelec and their distributor network are using our software for measuring frequency response when installing monitors in studios. Some other WinMLS users since it become available in 1997 are Aercoustics Engineering Ldt (Dr. John O'Keefe) - Canada, TC Electronic A/S - Denmark, National Research Counsil - Canada, Akustikon - Sweden, Adviesbureau Peutz & Associés B.V., The Netherlands and Transport Research Laboratory - England.

Feedback and wishes from our customers have lead to the following features in WinMLS 2000:
User friendly interface with customizable charts for professional  presentations. Works on most sound cards, professional hardware portable and stationary systems may be purchased from us. Benchmarked and tested against and compatibility with other high-quality measurement systems such as MLSSA and Audio Precision. All important parameters are user configurable through a measurement setup and a post-processing setup.

    Measurement specifications:
Measurement modes are MLS (advanced settings available), sinusoid, user defined and scope. Auto-name generator for saving, 1-24 channels, sampling rates up to 192 kHz (sound card dependent). Influence of measurement system can be subtracted, initial time delay measurement, pre and post-filtering. Mixer and input/output calibration.

    Post-processing specifications:
Plot types: Time data (impulse response), step response, energy-time curve, schroeder curve, frequency response/spectrum, phase response, group delay, waterfall, room acoustics parameters such as reverberation time. All settings for all these plot-types are accessed by double-clicking in the plot. No limitation in number of curves in plot, auto-refreshing, solo of active measurement curve. Two plot-types can be viewed simultaneously, so you can change the windowing of the impulse response and immediately see how it affects the frequency response.
The room acoustics version can be purchased from here.

Limitations of the WinMLS 2000 Lite version
Maximum number of channels measured simultaneously: 1 channel
    Maximum sampling frequency 48 kHz
Resolution, record/playback: max 16 bits (24 bits is not supported).
Maximum 1 channel can be measured simultaneously.
Limitation of 3 curves overlay (means that maximum three curves from different measurements can be plotted in the same plot)
Limitation of 3 measurements in memory, the list must be deleted if more.
Saving of setups with a new name is not possible, except for saving the setup with the current name using the Save button in Measurement->Measurement Setup.... (settings when closing WinMLS are restored when starting again).
No guidelines available for frequency response plots.
The plot types Step response, Schroeder curve, Energy-time-curve, Waterfall and Levels are not supported.
No calibration of mixer and absolute level (making it difficult to measure SPL).
    No correction of measurement system.
No emphasis of MLS signal (pre/post-filtering) of measurement signal.
No calling from command line specifying parameters (e.g. running WinMLS from Matlab).
